CNMC Show
New Horizons, the arts education and cultural enrichment program at Children's National Medical Center, recently invited artists to hang work on the hospital's walls. Greg Scott, the Gallery and Exhibit Coordinator, selected artists and curated the show, called Essential Elements. He also, as it turns out, had invaluable advice about how to hang things wonkily enough so that the kids were happy (they are apparently perpetually dissatisfied with art that hangs too neatly), but not so slanted that the show was beyond all control.
Pieces I hung included, among others, Ceiling Monsters, Snow scene, Cake, several illustrations from Gottfried the dragon, Head with halo, Flower girl, and Head with rings.
The show ran from July 13 until September 18, 2009, at 111 Michigan Ave NW, Washington, DC 20010 on the first floor by the atrium.
